This notice explains what happens to personal information when you visit joesoaps.co.za or contact us. Joesoaps is based in Cape Town, South Africa, and processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. It is a static site with no accounts, no forms, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking or profiling of visitors. We store nothing in your browser, which is why you are not asked for cookie consent — there is nothing to consent to.
Fonts loaded from Google
The site loads the Instrument Sans typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the stylesheet and font files directly from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, so Google receives your IP address and browser user-agent as part of that request. This is the only third party that receives any information when you view the site, and Google's handling of it is governed by Google's own privacy policy. If you would rather avoid it, blocking those two domains changes only the typeface — the rest of the site works normally.
Server logs
The site runs on shared web hosting. As is standard for web servers, the host records access logs containing your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your user-agent. These are used for security and troubleshooting only; we do not use them to identify or profile visitors. Retention of those logs is determined by our hosting provider.
Email you send us
If you email hello@joesoaps.co.za we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your information.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- provide a copy of it;
- correct or delete it;
- stop using it.
Email hello@joesoaps.co.za and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
